Merimbula to Wilson's Prom
Route description
From Sydney I’ll pass through the beautiful towns of South Coast NSW including Wollongong, Kiama, Ulladulla, Narooma, Batemans Bay, Merimbula, Eden , then Lake’s Entrance in Victoria before reaching Wilson’s Promontory, my departure point for crossing the Bass Strait.
Reaching Tasmania, I’ll be taking a right turn across Tassie’s Northern Coast to the headwaters of the Tamar River, the site of the proposed Gunns Pulp Mill and a quick paddle up the Tamar River to Launceston where I’d like a really nice long shower (anyone got solar hot water?).
Retracing my steps (or wake, as the case may be) I’ll get back to the NE corner of Tasmania and turn right again towards Hobart, past the spectacular Freycinet Peninsula, reaching Hobart 60 -80 days and 2000 kilometers later.
