Lets start with an example that I encountered along the way.
#1. Jervis Bay: Temples not Steel Mills

Glenn describes Jervis Bay's experience of fighting off industrial proposals (including a nuclear reactor!) and developing sustainably instead. What the article doesn't mention is that the exact site where locals fought off a steel mill has now been chosen by the Shao Lin Monastery as a new International Headquarters. This will bring over 3000 jobs to the area in its construction phase, and thereafter become a huge boon for Jervis Bay's already-thriving nature-based economy. The Tamar Valley has similar potential, and is faced with similar choices.
#2: Ethical Investing, a Triple Positive Industry
Ethical Investing means investing in companies who do the right thing by society and the environment. Ethical funds have outperformed their mainstream counterparts, proving that companies which act in a socially and environmentally responsible manner do better in the long run.
Ethical Investment itself has grown to a $12 billion dollar indistry, employing hundreds of people as well as generating excellent returns - a classic example of the triple positive.

#3: Organic Cotton Advantage: a Triple Positive Business
A fine example of a triple positive business, also encountered during this adventure, is a great little company called Organic Cotton Advantage

- Fertiliser run-off from cotton farms is linked to damage to the Great Barrier Reef.

While cotton farmers are making a few dollars, they are placing at risk far more profitable industries such as Barrier Reef Tourism, and the $1billion farming and grazing industries of the Murray-Darling Basin. In other words, cotton farming is a classic example of the triple negative.

#3: Organic Cotton Advantage: a Triple Positive Business
この冒険を通して知り合えた一つの小さい会社―Organic Cotton Advantage。ここオーストラリアではコットン産業が巨大な環境破壊を引き起こしている。
