Brief Biography

Simeon is a sustainability professional who contributes, through both commercial and voluntary work, to sustainable solutions for social and environmental problems.

In a voluntary capacity, Simeon is the Vice President of the Ethical Investment Association of Australia and a member of the United Nations Environment Programme SRI Advisory Board, positions which place him at the leading edge of the debate on corporate social, environmental and economic performance.

In his corporate career, Simeon has co-founded and co-managed two businesses which have proceeded to take leading positions in their respective fields.

Simeon was a Director of Resnik Communications from 2000 to 2003, during which time the company which grew from a start-up to a recognized brand in the finance and investment industry. Simeon’s role ranged from project planning and execution through to engaging, securing and managing the company’s major clients, human resources, financial management, marketing and logistics.

Following the sale of Resnik Communications to listed entity Tribeca Corporation in 2003, Simeon co-founded the Australian Biodiesel Consultancy. Simeon was involved in building both the company and the biodiesel industry from the ground up. Roles included capital raising, government liaison and industry advocacy, legal and financial management, and project inception, commercialisation and management. Simeon resigned from the Company in 2004 following the successful commissioning of its first full scale commercial plant. The company is now listed, has commissioned its second plant, and is Australia’s largest biodiesel manufacturer.

Simeon has a double degree in Arts and Law majoring in politics from the University of New South Wales, was awarded the NSW Bar Association prize for Advocacy and has been accepted into the Vincent Fairfax Fellowship.

His interests include rockclimbing, surfing, the outdoors, poetry, travel and, oh yes, kayaking.
