The Hon. John Howard, PM
Senator Eric Abetz, Minister for Fisheries, Forestry and Conservation
The Hon Paul Lennon, Premier of Tasmania
Potential financiers of the proposed mill
Mr John Gay, Chairman and CEO, Gunns Ltd

We request you to immediately:

a) Withdraw your support of, or attempt to promote, the proposed Gunns
pulp mill

b) Support, and seek ways to benefit from, the development of an
alternative, sustainable vision for Tasmania. This vision may include a
smaller scale, plantation based, chlorine free FSC Certified mill. It must
also include many other businesses owned by Tasmanians, to create a
diversified economy which will generate equivalent jobs, and equivalent
wealth, but in a manner which protects, rather than destroys, Tasmania’s
natural resources. For us and future generations.

Yours Sincerely,
Simeon Michaels
