National and State Coverage

The launch of the trip achieved national media coverage on Channels 9 and 10, ABC Radio National and all the major papers including the Australian, Sydney Morning Herald and the Age.

Prior to departing for the Bass Strait, the trip was covered in the  Melbourne Age and the Australian, and I did several radio interviews (some of them from the kayak in the middle of the Strait) with ABC's Drive, Jim Cox's breakfast program, Victorian and Tasmanian country radio, and regular updates with Hobart FM.  The Sydney Morning Herald also did a big story on families of adventurers with my sister Evie as the star.  The arrival in Tasmania was covered by Channel 9 and the Hobart Mercury, and the paddle with Rebecca Gibney by Southern Cross Ten. Most recently, Leo Schofield wrote about me being "auctioned" at an Investors for the Future Funtion.

Local Coverage

Local press has included WIN TV on the South Coast and a feature on State Focus in Canberra.  Regular interviews with Ian Campbell on Radio 2EC's Breakfast Show have provided updates on the adventure and covered various aspects of the pulp mill proposal, allowing listeners to gain an in-depth understanding of the issues.

Similarly, the Illawarra Mercury featured daily articles as I passed through Wollongong, and continues to publish weekly updates, as have Byron papers "the Echo"and Byron Shire News.  Local news reports have included the local papers in Kiama (the Independent), Nowra (Nowra Register) Batemans Bay and Merimbula in NSW, and Mallacoota and Lake's Entrance in Victoria, plus radio in Eden and Mallacoota, and an article in  Cleo Magazine.
